We would like to kindly inform you of upcoming important changes to the classification of certain goods and services.<\/p>\n

As of January 1st<\/sup>, 2026<\/strong>, a few modifications to the classes of goods and services will take effect, according to the preview of the 13th<\/sup>\u00a0edition of the Nice Classification<\/strong>\u00a0(NCL 13\u20132026) published by WIPO. The reclassifications are as follows:<\/p>\n

  1. Contact lenses, corrective spectacles, sunglasses, and other medical and therapeutic optical products, will move from class 9 to class 10<\/u>.<\/li>\n
  2. Emergency vehicles will be transferred from class 9 to class 12<\/u>.<\/li>\n
  3. Electric toothbrushes and other personal care products will move from class 10 to class 21<\/u>.<\/li>\n
  4. Heated garments and accessories will be transferred from class 11 to class 25.<\/u><\/li>\n
  5. Retail optician services will move to class 35<\/u>, while maintenance services will move to class 37<\/u>.<\/li>\n
  6. Essential oils for medical purposes will belong to class 5<\/u>. On the other hand, those intended for cosmetic use will move to class 3<\/u>, meanwhile oils intended for food purposes will be transferred to class 30<\/u>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If any of your clients\u2019 trademarks are included within the above-mentioned scope, we kindly recommend registering them in the corresponding classes to obtain the correct legal protection for your product\/service.<\/p>\n
